Yoga for Back Care Workshop with Jenny Warburton

Lower back pain is one of the most common forms of pain in the world today; and many of us have some form of “functional scoliosis” affecting the muscles along the spine which result in poor posture and back pain. There are many causes of back pain – from long hours of sitting, shortened hamstrings, misalignment of the hips and over use of the lower back. Similarly, a functional scoliosis can result simply from carrying heavy books, a baby or other heavy objects always on the same side of your body.
A functional scoliosis and back pain is almost always reversible!
This workshop includes the physical postures, breathing techniques and relaxation specifically directed towards back care to improve and realign your posture and alleviate back pain. We will look at safe yoga practice principles and injury prevention; we will learn about the three phases of lower back injury and how to recover from each stage.
Come along and join your teacher Jenny, specially trained in yoga for back care; and together we will learn how to lengthen your spine, realign your posture, alleviate back pain and improve your quality of living!
This workshop is suitable for anyone who has ever experienced back pain, and for yoga teachers who would like to deepen their skills in this important area.
